Index your completed Linear issues, with their comments, and your Linear documents. Citations link back to Linear.

Before you start

  • A Pro plan or higher, and permission to edit sources in the knowledge base.
  • A Linear personal API key (lin_api_…), created at linear.app/settings/api. Kelu sees what the key’s account sees, so create it on an account that can see the teams you want indexed.

Set up

Add the source

Open your knowledge base, go to Sources, click Add source and choose Linear. Give it a name and paste the API key. To index some teams only, list their Team keys.

Add and check

Click Add source. The first sync starts right away. When it finishes, open the source’s Documents tab to see what was indexed.
Issue threads can hold roadmap and customer details. Documents from a new source are public by default. To keep them to your team, add Linear to an internal knowledge base. To hide personal details, turn on PII masking before the first sync.

What gets indexed

  • Issues in a completed state. In-progress and cancelled issues are skipped.
    • One document per issue, titled ENG-123: title.
    • It holds the status, labels, description and comments. Long threads keep the newest 200 comments.
  • Linear documents the key can see, one document each. Empty documents are skipped.
  • If Linear refuses to list documents, issues are still indexed. The source’s Sync history tab notes it.

Sync

Linear re-syncs every 10 minutes. Click Sync Now on the source page to sync right away.

Troubleshooting

  • The sync fails with status 401 or an authentication error. The API key was revoked. Create a new one and update it on the Configuration tab.
  • Issues are missing. Only completed issues are indexed. Check that the key’s account can see the team, and that the team key is listed (or the list is empty).
  • Documents from other teams appear. Team keys limits issues only. Every Linear document the key can see is indexed.
