Index a docs site, check the answers, and add the Ask AI widget to your site. No code is needed until the last step, which is one script tag.

Before you start

  • A Kelu account. Sign up at app.kelu.dev.
  • A public docs URL, such as https://docs.example.com.
1

Create a knowledge base

The first time you sign in, setup asks a few questions and then creates your first knowledge base. Give it a name and leave the type on External, so it can be published. Later ones are made from Knowledge Bases → New Knowledge Base.
2

Add your docs

Open the knowledge base. On the Sources tab, click Add source and pick Website. Enter the Start URL and click Crawl to preview which pages will be indexed, then click through to Add source. The first crawl starts right away. See Website crawling for the options.
3

Ask a question

When the crawl finishes, open the Playground tab and ask something your docs answer. The answer streams in with numbered citations that link to the pages it used.
4

Put the widget on your site

Go to Integrations → Website widget, click New widget, pick the knowledge base and a public client key (kl_pk_…), and copy the snippet into your site’s layout, before </body>:
<script
  async
  src="https://widget.kelu.dev/kelu-widget.js"
  data-widget-id="YOUR_WIDGET_ID"
  data-client-key="kl_pk_..."
></script>
Add your site’s domain to the key’s Allowed origins so nobody else can use it. The widget quickstart has every step, and the platform guides cover Mintlify, Docusaurus, Next.js and more.

Watch what people ask

Analytics shows conversations, users and feedback. Coverage Gaps lists the questions your content could not answer. Click Answer this on one to write the answer yourself.
Integrations are managed by workspace owners and admins. On the Free plan you can add Website, File Upload, Custom Answers, OpenAPI Spec and YouTube sources. See Billing & Plans.
